BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - BUILDING DRAINAGE POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) for ACO Building Drainage drives new business and sales growth within a defined territory. This role involves identifying and pursuing and closing project opportunities, cultivating relationships with key decision-makers-such as mechanical and plumbing engineers, project owners, and contractors-and converting leads into sales. By positioning ACO Building Drainage as the top choice for building drainage solutions, the BDM will play a critical part in expanding market share and brand recognition.
A strong emphasis on business development is essential, requiring the BDM to create and execute a strategic sales plan, close project business, and implement a repeatable sales process that fosters long-term, sustainable growth. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a driven professional to significantly enhance ACO's presence and influence in the building drainage sector.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - BUILDING DRAINAGE ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
Collaborate proactively with architects and mechanical plumbing engineers to shape ACO project specifications and ensure product alignment with design requirements. Promote ACO Building Drainage products, and secure market share over competitors. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of meaningful project opportunities with mechanical contractors, facility and property managers in the food & beverage, healthcare and hospitality sectors. Develop and implement a strategic sales plan designed to achieve or surpass regional sales targets. Direct and monitor territory sales performance with a focus on exceeding sales budgets. Partner closely with the inside sales team to manage and successfully identify new projects and close existing projects within the sales pipeline. Clearly communicate project details, timelines, and expectations with internal teams to ensure smooth execution. Conduct on-site evaluations and client meetings to identify new business opportunities and provide expert product guidance. Establish repeatable sales methodologies that foster long-term client relationships that drive sustainable and profitable growth. Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, including leads, project progress, and follow-ups. Represent ACO at trade shows, industry conferences, and client presentations, strengthening brand visibility, credibility, and market presence. Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction, architectural, plumbing or other related discipline or Associate degree and related experience AND/OR one year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training. A minimum of one-year previous inside sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree with a focus on engineers, construction, and architecture is preferred.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - BUILDING DRAINAGE OTHER SKILLS :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the level of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as simple construction drawings, blueprints, or requests for proposals. Develop the ability to write professional correspondence, ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Should possess the ability to compute percentages, discounts & margins. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Access, Excel, databases, and file management. Must be able to create documents and transfer files. Key boarding skills of 35 wpm, intermediate knowledge of Microsoft professional programs, Excel, Word, Power Point & Others Proficient use of video conferencing equipment Excellent punctuation, grammar, and spelling Professional phone manners BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - BUILDING DRAINAGE
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to travel daily, fly, and spend most of the day in a vehicle Ability to sit, stand, walk, and bend daily. Valid driver's license and no major driving violations Ability to operate a computer for 1-2 hours per day. Ability to lift product up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.
