Plan, coordinate and implement care for an acuity-based assignment. Patient population includes general med/surg, epilepsy monitoring, and oncology. Kootenai Health utilizes a FLEX nurse, phlebotomy, transportation team, Transitional Care Service/DC team and a Vascular Access Nurse to assist the nurse with patient care. Procedures: IV insertion, central lines, foleys, NG tubes, tube feedings, chest tubes. Unit expectations: bedside rounding, hourly/proactive rounding, The Five Ps, AIDET, mid-shift huddle, participation in Learning Board. Equipment utilized in the unit/department: EPIC charting, PLUM IV infusion pumps. Job Requirements
1 year of Oncology RN experience required. 1 year of Med Surg experience required. Must have experience administering IV Chemotherapy. Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program required. State of ID (or compact) RN license. BLS - AHA. Oncology/Chemo cert required prior to start. Schedule Information
12-hour shifts (7am-7pm, 7pm-7am). No Call. Candidate won't work alone. Weekends: 6 weekend shifts required per every 6-week schedule in any combination. Holidays: when applicable. Unit does self-scheduling! Unit Specific Information
Orientation for travelers starts every Tuesday of each week. Entails 2 days of hospital orientation and 2 shifts on the designated unit. Additional Details
