MUST have INDUSTRIAL CONSTRUCTION experience. PLUSsee below for other requirements. We are seeking a talented and dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Columbia. This position requires a highly skilled individual who is passionate about engineering and eager to contribute to innovative projects. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and test mechanical components and systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success. Analyze complex mechanical problems and develop efficient solutions. Create technical documentation and reports. Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Proven experience in mechanical design and analysis. Proficiency with CAD software and other engineering tools. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. PE registration in the state of South Carolina or the ability to obtain the same. NCEES registration is desirable if not currently registered, then ability to obtain registration if hired. Ability to obtain additional state professional registrations as required. · Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a registered PE in mechanical engineering of industrial projects with a variety of mechanical systems including the design of HVAC systems, chilled/hot water, and DX systems, cooling/and heating load calculations, equipment selection, controls, life cycle costing, specification writing, studies, cost estimating, shop drawing review, site observations and basic knowledge of AutoCAD. Construction experience is desirable. · Experience with development of fire protection specification sheets, design of plumbing, process piping, and compressor piping also desired. · Full understanding of current building codes, IBC, and National Fire Protection Code, particularly as it applies to industrial facilities with hazardous use groups. Familiarity with FM Global standards a plus. Experience with industry software such as COMcheck, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, and eQuest, or other HVAC design software.
