Our Utility Client in NYC is looking for a VMWare/Nutanix Administrator for a 5 days a week onsite for 12+months. They are migrating HYPER V to Nutanix so need someone very strong in migration and Nutanix for this role. Not just maintenance but someone who can do it from scratch without handholding. Must have a valid driver's license. **This position is fully onsite, 5 days a week** Selected candidate will require passing of NERC CIP Personnel Risk Assessment background check. We would also like to get 2 references from the most recent roles the applicant has worked. Must Have: A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 3-5 years' work experience in an enterprise IT environment. Active Directory active monitoring of the entire infrastructure and troubleshoot server Application Servers design and implementation of VMware vSphere and Nutanix environments Hyper-V managed Nutanix clusters manage Operating Systems Workstations Nice to Have: 2nd and 3rd-level technical support Ability to intrepid, modify and write scripts and SQL queries analysis of cyber activity / threats Experience with Splunk Failover Manager administration with clustering VMware Nutanix JOB DESCRIPTION Seeking a highly motivated candidate who demonstrates commitment to customer service and possesses strong technical skills and proficiency working with: Windows Server/Desktop operating systems, users administration, file system, software, and services Understanding of servers and various storage RAID configuration Active Directory management, including backup and recovery of domain and GPO setup Fundamental networking concepts and troubleshooting such as DHCP, DNS, Routing, Firewall Fundamental understanding of security principles, ACL, Encryption Scripting: PowerShell, bash, ksh or perl for automating routine tasks Experienced with monitoring system health and performance, able to provide statistics to identify bottlenecks and lead optimization efforts Disaster recovery planning and ability to perform backup and restore for systems, applications and data Patch and firmware installation and management Strong customer service mindset, providing +1 end user support experience The ideal candidate is well organized, detail-oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines with a safety mind set. This individual must also exercise good judgment, integrity, and render sound business decisions. The applicant should possess strong oral and written communication skills and able to produce documentation on solutions and system design. Bachelor's degree (preferably in Information Technology) with a minimum of 8 years' experience in IT Support. The successful candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of various computing platforms from servers, networks, storage including scripting experience for automation. Must have the ability to lift/transport server equipment when needed. Must be able to provide off-hour, on-call support for workstation, server and other system related issues that requires travel to various supported sites. Must be willing and able to work overtime and be flexible with work hours to respond to emergencies or scheduled work that must be done either prior to or after normal business hours.
