JOB SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Business Office - Director, the primary role of the Health Information Technology HIT Business Analyst is to coordinate, guide, and be a subject matter expert on the HIT tools/software used to support clinical care - medical, behavioral health, dental, pharmacy, and enabling services. The HIT Business Analyst will participate in our Epic vendor related meetings; build, implement, and support GLIHHC HIT training for staff, including new hires and continuous learning opportunities. Support process improvement and optimization projects, serving as subject matter experts on HIT tools, analyze and identify optimization opportunities to streamline workflows; assist with system build; provide testing support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution; and maintain member-managed components for the Epic software. The HIT Business Analyst will play a key role in Quality Improvement (QI) efforts by ensuring that end users are following clinical processes when delivering high-quality patient care. This role will partner closely with the Senior Health Information Technology Advisor to drive CEO identified strategic initiatives for the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Coordination Key contact for Epic vendor meetings Coordinate HIT/EHR Projects initiatives Develop and execute a communication plan around system changes and training Facilitate regular EHR Vendor Support Analysts meetings Communication system changes and clinic workflow impacts due to technology changes. Attend workgroups. Learning Forum and disseminate learned information to appropriate parties. Work collaboratively with clinicians, end users, and vendor analysts to manage requests for: Adding diagnoses and procedures to the system. Requests for additional system level charting tools

HIT Training

Develop tailored training curriculum in partnership with operational leaders to support the onboarding and success of GLIIHC end users. Train and support Epic super users/operational leads within each functional area of the agency. Provide support for users who need assistance with the Learning Management System. Coordinate and lead trainings onboarding trainings for end users, to provide a foundational onboarding experience. Coordinate and support continuous education opportunities.

Epic/Ancillary HIT systems support

Perform and manage Epic related tasks: Work queue System audits and end user usage Duplicate record mergers Maintain/Modify the Provider Master File (SER) User Security Templates Preference List Other key maintenance on EHR platform

Epic Release Note review and testing (Continuum)

Develop, maintain and update application resource documentation Collaborate with EHR vendor when implementing new tools in Epic or Epic upgrades.

Provide daily support to Epic application users through troubleshooting, coaching, and consulting. Identify, assess, and troubleshoot HIT issues, owning the problem until full resolution. Research and resolve end user questions regarding Epic applications. Facilitate and support operational leaders with their Epic support needs and questions Coordinate with IT staff hardware and other IT related issues. Refer issues to EHR vendor help desk, submitting help desk tickets. Ensure the vendor has enough clinical and workflow information necessary to resolve the issue/question. Close the loop with end user.

Business Analyst

Participate in GLIIHC process and quality improvement initiatives to understand workflows, provide input on configuration/design, share considerations for policy development and CHC readiness. Provide guidance on recommended best practices for system usage. Assist with writing Epic Reporting Workbench reports, dashboards, and slicer/dicer tools. Ensure discrete data elements are identified to support organizational reporting and data needs Other duties as assigned to support the organization on its health information technology initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required minimum of 2 years of Epic experience within a safety net clinic.

EDUCATION and/or SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

Bachelor's Degree Workflow design - Visio, Lucidchart

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Work is performed in an office environment utilizing various office equipment including, but not limited to, a computer, copy machine, fax machine, and multi-line phone. Ability to communicate effectively over the telephone, by computer and in person. Ability to perform well in a fast-paced work environment.
