What We’re Looking For: We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology organization into its next phase of growth. As the top technical executive, the CTO will oversee our global engineering team located in Poland, drive the product and technical vision, and ensure that our SaaS platform remains innovative, scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate will balance long-term strategic thinking with operational excellence, serving as a mentor and decision-maker for a highly distributed, skilled team. This is a high-impact role with visibility across the board. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Develop and execute the company’s technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and product roadmaps Act as a key advisor to the CEO and board Identify emerging technologies and trends to maintain competitive advantage and foster innovation Evaluate and improve the scalability, security, and reliability of the technical architecture to support business growth Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, to ensure technology strategy supports revenue growth and customer satisfaction Represent the technology vision in investor discussions, recapitalization efforts, and external communications when required Team Management Directly manage the Development Manager in Poland and provide mentorship to the team. Quarterly travel to our office in Poland will be required. Cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence across distributed teams Partner with People Operations to implement training and professional development programs to upskill team members Develop and execute succession plans for key technical roles to ensure continuity and resilience in leadership Operational Excellence Provide oversight on development, testing, deployment, and infrastructure management to ensure high-quality deliverables and uptime Lead the adoption of best practices in DevOps, CI/CD automation, and infrastructure as code (Pulumi, AKS, Azure) Collaborate with Product Management to prioritize and deliver features that enhance customer value Refine and enforce KPIs for development velocity, system performance, and team effectiveness Product and Technical Oversight Maintain and evolve the existing microservices architecture to ensure reliability, scalability, and security Drive innovation in the SaaS platform, particularly in AI-related initiatives Collaborate with the product team to identify customer pain points and translate them into technical solutions that drive adoption and retention Oversee the resolution of critical bugs while balancing long-term product innovation Own platform security and ensure compliance with industry standards and security protocols (e.g., Sprinto compliance auditing, Entra ID authentication) Ensure that all data handling practices comply with global data privacy standards and support robust data governance policies Qualifications 10+ years proven experience in software engineering, including 5+ years in leadership roles Previous experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or equivalent for a high-growth SaaS company Demonstrated success leading distributed engineering teams, with a focus on building scalable systems Hands-on experience with cloud-native architecture, particularly using Azure services Strong track record of building and implementing DevOps practices (CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing) Experience leading initiatives that involve AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics to enhance SaaS products Proven ability to engage with investors and external stakeholders, demonstrating technical leadership and business acumen Skills Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage up (board/CEO) and down (team members) Strong grasp of emerging technology trends and ability to determine their relevance and value to business goals Expertise in microservices architecture, containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker), and cloud infrastructure Strong understanding of data architecture, including SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MS SQL, Cosmos DB) Deep knowledge of product development lifecycles and agile practices Familiarity with third-party integrations (e.g., Twilio, Cloudflare, Elasticsearch, Dropbox) Proficiency in optimizing cloud infrastructure to balance performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness Qualities Strategic thinker who can also dive into technical details when necessary Customer-focused mindset with the ability to align technical strategies with business objectives and market demands Pragmatic decision-maker who balances innovation with operational needs Collaborative and transparent, with a focus on empowering team members Adaptable and resilient in the face of changing business priorities Benefits $750 Learning and Development Stipend 401K with 3% company match Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 8 paid holidays 15 days of paid time off Voluntary benefits (pet insurance, legal, accident) 24/7 EAP - Free Professional Counseling Services SPOTIO Work Environment This position is hybrid. We work in the office twice a week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
