Urban Corps of San Diego About Us: Urban Corps of San Diego is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young people and improving communities through environmental education, job training, and community service. We are seeking a seasoned and strategic leader to join our team as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and visionary COO to lead and oversee our operations across multiple departments, including Recycling, Community Improvement Services, Environmental Services, Construction, and Contract Compliance. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, the COO will play a critical role in driving strategic growth, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering impactful results that align with our mission. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute strategic plans to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness across departments. Collaborate with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to define organizational priorities and long-term goals. Operational Oversight:
Direct day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality performance and adherence to organizational standards. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program effectiveness and operational efficiency. Financial and Resource Management:
Collaborate with the CFO to develop and manage budgets, allocate resources, and drive revenue growth through contract compliance and new business development. Team Leadership and Development:
Inspire and mentor department directors and teams, fostering a collaborative and mission-driven work environment. Identify opportunities for professional development and growth. Contract Compliance and Risk Management:
Oversee contract compliance, monitor risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Serve as primary point of contact for high-level contract negotiations and partnerships. Stakeholder Engagement:
Represent Urban Corps with external stakeholders, developing and maintaining strategic partnerships that drive organizational growth and mission impact.
