Overview
Position Highlights:
* PRN * Hours: Monday-Friday, 10 hour shifts. NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS * Location: Lombard
Responsibilities
What You Will Do
* The Surgical Technologist works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in accordance with the Standards of Practice and within the guidelines of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act * The Surgical Technologist is responsible for establishing and maintaining a sterile field, a safe patient care environment, and appropriate supplies/equipment as required for the operative procedure. * Assists surgical team preparing for, during and after surgery. * Prepares operating room for surgery. * Acts as scrub person during surgery by performing a combination of tasks as directed by the surgical team. * Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies * Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients. * Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
* High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from a Surgical Technologist approved program. * Certified Surgical Technologist, or become certified within 1 year of hire. * CPR; BLS
EXPERIENCE:
* At least 6 months - 3 years Surgical Tech experience
