Job Summary:

A nurse practitioner is employed by Erlanger Medical Center and is responsible for participating in the diagnosis, treatment, and supportive care of Erlanger employees and prospective employees. The Nurse Practitioner collects documents and analyzes patient data, and when necessary, collaborates in the development and implementation of testing and treatment protocols. The Practitioner will practice under the supervision of Medical Director and any others as defined by the Collaborative agreement the NP has with the collaborating physician.

This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.

Graduate from a nationally accredited School of Nursing for both undergraduate and Master's Degree.

One to three years experience in primary care setting. Occupational Health experience.

Required:

Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee. Certification by the American Nurses Association as a Nurse Practitioner.
