This position will provide administrative, clerical, and technical support to the Case Management, Education and Spiritual Care programs by providing a variety of office support services so that all department activities may be accomplished.

This is part-time position anticipated to work approximately 30 hours per week between 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. The specific schedule can be determined at the time of appointment based on department business needs and applicant availability.

Minimum Qualifications

To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held .

  • Knowledge of English sufficient to write, prepare, and edit materials, using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence construction.

  • Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to a variety of customers over the phone, in person and via email.

  • Skills in keyboarding/typing, using Microsoft Word or equivalent software, sufficient to type and format letters, produce memos, reports and meeting minutes in an efficient and timely manner.

  • Skills in database management sufficient to enter and retrieve data for reports.

  • Data entry skills sufficient to create database records and update entries in a timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:

  • Two (2) years or more of general office experience

  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software.

  • Experience working in a correctional/secured setting.

  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with persons from diverse backgrounds, and commitment to diversity and inclusion initiatives.

  • The experience, organizational and personal skills necessary to perform assigned work independently, efficiently, in a timely manner, problem-solve, plan, communicate and prioritize work.

Physical Requirements

Additional Requirements

The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.

Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.

New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
