Detail Page Experience and Marketplace (DPMI) team, within Sponsored Products (SP), is looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead several strategic projects for innovations in DP shopper experience and monetization strategy across multiple organizations (Ads, BuyX, P13N, APB, and others). The candidate will apply both business and technical acumen in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and innovative environment, partnering with product, science and engineering teams distributed in multiple organizations. You thrive through building consensus and driving teams towards results, anticipating bottlenecks, providing escalation management, anticipating and making tradeoffs, and balancing business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop mechanism to drive its delivery in a successful and timely manner is key. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Key job responsibilities

* Own successful delivery of large, high impact and highly cross-functional product initiatives while simultaneously and accurately tracking a set of smaller projects

* Drive strategic cross-functional planning, leading discovery and prioritization by closely partnering with product managers and engineering leads to develop program plans that include roadmaps, dependency identifications, and resourcing plans

* Ascertain the true requirements underlying feature requests; recommend alternative technical approaches and help engineering efforts meet aggressive timelines

* Communicate clearly and effectively to executive management on short and long term plans, program updates, and critical issues

* Refine existing and build new mechanism to optimize the output and collaboration within the team and with partners. e.g., experiment tracking, intake processes, metrics reporting

* Drive the 2-3 year SP tech strategy aligning with the SP product strategy for Detail Page collaborating with the PMT leaders

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

- 5+ years of software development experience

- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

- Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

- Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

- Experience managing projects across multiple engineering teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating go-to-market releases.

- Prior experience working on scalable web applications.

Basic Qualifications

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

- 5+ years of software development experience

- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

Preferred Qualifications

- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
