Summary/Objective:

The Warehouse Manager is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and staff supervision. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to optimize processes for efficiency and productivity.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Receive goods and meticulously verify quality and quantity upon unloading from trucks and trailers.
  • Compare received items against suppliers’ count, promptly reporting any discrepancies to carriers, supervisors, and purchasing officers in adherence to company policy.
  • Lead and oversee a team of material handlers and logistics personnel, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to protocols.
  • Manage the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies within the warehouse, meticulously tracking inventory levels and movements.
  • Foster seamless collaboration and communication with planning, material handlers, carriers, and operations teams to track the status of raw materials and finished goods both onsite and in transit.
  • Maintain an impeccably organized, clean dock, and warehouse space to facilitate efficient operations and uphold safety standards.
  • Ensure strict adherence to service level agreements for unloading deliveries, stocking, and overall warehouse operations to meet customer expectations.
  • Maintain accurate daily log sheets of inventory movements, utilizing real-time data collection methods to enhance accuracy and optimize labor costs.
  • Engage positively with internal stakeholders, fostering productive relationships and facilitating effective communication channels.
  • Oversee the maintenance of computerized administrative systems, including stock inventory and retrieval systems, to streamline operations and ensure data accuracy.
  • Inspect and approve the quality and quantity of received and shipped goods and equipment, enforcing safety procedures, and company regulations.
  • Manage, mentor, and train warehouse staff, fostering team cohesion and monitoring performance to ensure optimal productivity.
  • Interact with clients, vendors, suppliers, and customers to address inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Oversee all aspects of receiving, warehousing, and dispatch operations, coordinating effectively to optimize efficiency and minimize delays.
  • Regularly meet with warehouse leads to assess, analyze, and develop actionable plans for loss prevention and productivity improvements.
  • Schedule general maintenance of warehouse machinery and facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Keep meticulous logs of all inventory within the warehouse and develop and maintain shipping schedules to meet internal and external customer demands.
  • Coordinate with project managers, department managers, and carriers to ensure seamless logistics regarding final product destinations for pick-up and delivery.
  • Review department staffing needs and maintain a positive work environment, enforcing safety requirements and conducting monthly safety meetings with employees.
  • Ensure all assigned tasks by the leadership team are completed efficiently and enforce adherence to all company rules, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Perform periodic physical inventory checks, undertake general housekeeping, preventative maintenance, and repair on warehouse equipment as needed, and handle any other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000 per year

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable ability to create and implement processes to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse procedures.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • State motor vehicle operator’s permit for operation of forklift highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
