Job Summary:

The Part-Time Dental Assistant will work under the supervision of the dentist and assist in a variety of clinical tasks, including patient care, equipment preparation, and office maintenance. This position is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about providing excellent dental care and helping patients feel comfortable during their visits.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including sterilizing and preparing instruments.

Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays).

Prepare patients for treatments and procedures.

Maintain accurate patient records and charting.

Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment.

Assist with the management of dental supplies and inventory.

Educate patients on oral hygiene and postoperative care.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and the dental office.

Perform other duties as required to ensure smooth daily operations of the dental office.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Certification in dental assisting or completion of an accredited dental assistant program (preferred).

Current CPR certification.

X-ray certification (Texas State required).

Previous dental assisting experience is preferred, but not required.

Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused attitude.

Ability to work well with a team in a fast-paced environment.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
