Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Tax Preparer.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY – WE WILL TRAIN. This entry-level position is perfect for
someone eager to start a career in tax preparation. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest
in taxes and finance, with a willingness to learn the ins and outs of tax laws and regulations. As a
New Tax Preparer, you will assist in preparing basic tax returns for individuals and small
businesses while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
 Assist in preparing and reviewing individual and small business tax returns (1040,
1040EZ, 1040A, etc.).
 Gather necessary financial information and documents from clients, such as W-2s, 1099s,
receipts, and other supporting materials.
 Use tax preparation software to input tax data accurately.
 Help clients understand basic tax deductions, credits, and other applicable benefits.
 Answer client questions about tax returns and filing procedures in a clear, professional
manner.
 Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
 Maintain confidentiality of all client information and adhere to data privacy policies.
 Assist with the organization and filing of tax records.
 Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate preparation.
 Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
 High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s degree or relevant coursework
in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus.
 Some prior experience in customer service is beneficial, but not required.
 Strong interest in taxes, accounting, and finance.
 Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
 Ability to learn tax preparation software quickly.
 Strong communication skills and ability to explain tax concepts in a simple and friendly
manner.
 Must be a team player, eager to learn, and open to feedback.
 Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with clients.
Preferred:
 Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
