Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Electrical Inspector to oversee contractor activities related to the installation of conduit, wiring, tubing, fittings, and associated appurtenances. The inspector will ensure the correct installation of electrical and control equipment, including electronic flow measurement devices, switchgear, ultrasonic meters, transmitters, and control valves, to guarantee compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor contractor installation processes to ensure adherence to specifications for electrical and control equipment.
- Utilize extensive knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) to evaluate wiring schematics and process instrumentation diagrams.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to report findings and collaborate with team members.
- Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to address and resolve installation issues as they arise.
Skills Required:
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Analytical mindset with robust problem-solving skills.
- Team-oriented with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of safe work practices in the oil and gas production industry.
- Familiarity with machines and tools, including their design, usage, repair, and maintenance.
- Understanding of OSHA requirements, safety equipment, and monitoring devices.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required; advanced education preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of instrumentation and electrical experience.
- Valid Journeyman license.
- Relevant inspection certifications and qualifications are required.
- NEC and ISA training preferred.
