We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to support the SW testing & evaluation (T&E) platform for a government health system. You will work with the Test Services Director in the advancement of the Development Testing & Evaluation Platform's strategic needs with a focus on data & information accessibility. Position responsibilities include:
- Performing data extractions, cleaning, manipulation, and integration.
- Developing and maintaining workflows and dashboards that improve our visibility of the testing platform's output and adherence to standards.
- Automating data extracts, cleansing, manipulation, integration, and reporting.
- Engaging with organizational leaders and process stakeholders to support data integrity and availability (dashboards, downloads, and reporting).
- Working with SW testing stakeholders and other contract teaming partners to support data recording, data compliance, and reporting policies.
- Exercising critical thinking skills to determine best practices for successful project delivery.
- Working independently, prioritizing responsibilities, and developing informed client recommendations and solutions.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Identify and download correctly filtered and organized sets of data from a variety of sources in Jira (with plug-ins like Zephyr Scale and Xray), Jazz, Metronome, and other Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Software Testing software packages.
- Clean, adjust, and integrate data from multiple sources to ensure the data accurately reflects reality and can provide wholistic pictures using Excel, SQL, Python, and/or Alteryx.
- Help assess critical information and questions to answer with data, provide input to the appropriate metrics to use, and design appropriate dashboards to share necessary data.
- Develop workflows to streamline and automate data pulling, cleaning, manipulation, and integration tasks.
- Automate updating of dashboards.
- Recommend workflow changes up & downstream for data capture, pulling, cleaning, manipulation, and reporting tasks that can simplify or reduce the work required to provide accurate data.
- Provide input / author Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to codify best-practices for data capture, pulling, cleaning, manipulation, and reporting.
- Join discussions / workshops to assess, refine, and capture leadership information requirements.
- Iterate as appropriate with leaders on dashboards and other reports to ensure their needs are met.
- Act as a subject matter expert on software test data and reporting to help leaders assess their needs.
- Work with software testers to understand their actual workflows, activities, and pain points to inform best-practice SOP's and procedures.
- Train / ensure workforce understands correct procedures so that data can be reported accurately according to the types of information leaders need to make decisions.
- Perform special projects and/or other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications, Education, and Skills Requirements:
- US Citizenship with the ability to achieve a Public Trust or higher clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or related fields.
- Five or more years of relevant knowledge & experience of software testing & workflows, especially with modern methods like DevSecOps, CI/CD, etc.
- Proficiency in utilizing Jira or similar SDLC software package experience.
- Must have exceptional critical thinking and communication skills, data management concepts.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Tableau, SQL, Python, and PowerBI.
- Meticulous attention to detail and follow-through.
- Perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.
- Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, plan workflow, and take initiative.
- Experience working in the federal government; experience in other large institutions or businesses may also qualify in lieu of federal experience.
Additional Desires and Considerations
- 5-8 years of data analytic and software testing experience is desirable.
- Active Secret Clearance or recently held.
- Previous experience in healthcare, especially in medical coding and informatics.
- CDMP or other Data Analytics certification.
- Military or veteran hiring preference.
