Position Summary
The Assistant Warehouse Manager is responsible for working directly with the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily warehouse operations, including the supervision of warehouse support staff. This role involves managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products to ensure the efficient functioning of the warehouse. The Assistant Warehouse Manager will coordinate with the Warehouse Manager, internal teams, and installation crews to maintain schedules and ensure timely delivery of materials to customers and job sites. This position also involves assisting in managing warehouse safety protocols, equipment maintenance, and inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Work to complete day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and distributing products and materials.
- Supervise warehouse support staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
- Manage inventory control, ensuring accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Ensure that the warehouse is organized, clean, and operating efficiently.
- Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, including forklifts, ensuring safe operation by staff.
- Coordinate with installation crews and other departments to ensure timely delivery and preparation of materials.
- Assist with the development of and enforce warehouse safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Monitor warehouse performance and implement process improvements where necessary.
- Track and manage warehouse supplies and equipment, ordering replacements as needed.
- Perform additional tasks as necessary to support overall warehouse operations.

- Experience operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelors degree in logistics, business, or a related field preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in warehouse management or logistics.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
- Valid drivers license and a good driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds regularly.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving materials.
- Ability to work in various warehouse conditions, including hot, cold, and noisy environments.
- Must be able to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
