Title: ACE Tutor
Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt, max of 17 hours per week
Reports to: Site Coordinator
Pay Grade: (Part-time grant funded)
High School graduate/GED: $10.00
Bachelor's Degree and Certified: $25.00
Dept./School: Elementary
Primary Purpose:
To assist and promote Aransas Pass ISD and Aransas Pass for Youth in implementing a rigorous curriculum/instructional program that supports student success and achievement and to provide elementary students with academic assistance in academic areas and enrichment activities for student's social and emotional well-being.
Qualifications:
Required-High School Graduate/GED
Preferred-College level student/College graduate
Under direct supervision of the ACE Site Coordinator, tutors will perform the

Under direct supervision of the ACE Site Coordinator, tutors will perform the
following tasks:
- Utilize provided materials for tutoring services/enrichment activities.
- Conduct tutorials sessions/mini-lessons.
- Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
- Assesses student progress.
- Tracks and charts student progress.
- Encourage students to set and maintain standards for classroom behavior.
- Set an example of personal excellence and high expectations for ACE
students to follow.
- Communicate frequently and honestly with the ACE coordinator/teacher regarding student progress and areas of concern.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media for fundamental student improvement in reading and math.
- Maintains confidentiality of students.
- Provide enrichment and recreation leadership for ACE program students.
- Foster students' self-esteem and motivation through positive interaction.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding and respect for the communities in which they identify.
- Assist in formulating, upholding, and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
