We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Hardware Engineer Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers an exciting chance to contribute to the design, development, and testing of [type of hardware products], while also expanding your skill set and knowledge in the hardware engineering field.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to design, prototype, and test hardware solutions for MFT
  • Assist in the design and layout of printed circuit boards (PCBs) using industry-standard software.
  • Participate in hardware debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving to identify and resolve issues during the development process.
  • Contribute to the testing and validation of hardware components and systems, ensuring they meet performance and quality standards.
  • Support the documentation process by creating and updating hardware specifications, schematics, and design documents.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and advancements in the hardware engineering field.

Required Qualifications
  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of electronics, digital logic, analog circuits, and PCB design principles.
  • Familiarity with hardware design tools, such as schematic capture software (e.g., Altium, OrCAD, Eagle) and PCB layout software (e.g., Altium, Allegro).
  • Hands-on experience with soldering, prototyping, and hardware testing is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and debug hardware issues.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and a genuine interest in hardware engineering and technology.
  • Previous internship, personal projects, or coursework related to hardware design is advantageous.


Duration

This internship position is a 10-week program, starting May 2025. The exact duration can be discussed during the interview process.

Location

The internship will be based at our Carol Stream office.

Hourly Rate: $22 - $27 per hour
