Overview

Astera Labs Inc., a leader in purpose-built connectivity solutions for data-centric systems, is seeking a Hardware Engineering Lab Manager in Santa Clara, CA with experience in working with complex electronics design and test instruments.

Job Description:

As an Astera Labs Hardware Engineering Lab Engineer you will be supporting our Hardware Engineering team that designs boards featuring Astera Labs' portfolio of connectivity products used in the world's leading cloud service providers, server and network OEMs. In this role, you will be working closely with designers and test/validation engineers to deliver world class products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support electronic laboratory operation
  • Execute intricate electronic soldering and rework on complex PCBA prototype
  • Oversee the lifecycle of prototypes, ensuring efficient management and tracking
  • Perform electrical measurements as part of design validation process
  • Work closely with the engineering team to collectively run tests and resolve complex technical challenges

Basic Qualifications/Required Experience
  • Associates Degree in electronics or similar field, or the equivalent qualification in training and experience; prior technical lab experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience of rework and assembly of complex PCBA prototypes.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, layouts, troubleshoot electronic systems, and perform EE debugging
  • Ability to follow written procedures to complete complex tasks and recommend improvements to boost efficiency and streamline workflows
  • Ability to clearly document and communicate debug related findings and measurement results

Preferred Experience
  • Be comfortable removing and replacing 0201-size components
  • Experience with high-speed measurements to enhance product testing
  • Ability to configure and set up computers and test equipment for seamless operations

The base salary range is $120,000 - $190,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
