R D Altanova a subsidiary of Advantest America Inc. has a senior Hardware Engineering position.

Senior engineers are responsible for the design and development of ATE (automatic test equipment) test interface solutions.

This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to experience the entire technical cycle from concept through validation, and the role of supporting our customer's demanding highspeed digital and RF test requirements.

We are looking for engineer to develop new business opportunities for device interface sales by leveraging your hardware skills with our existing customer relationships, internal design and manufacturing capability, and our proven technologies.

This is a customer facing role that relies on your deep technical skills and your ability to conceive a plan, develop a schedule, organize the resources to deliver on that plan and bring the customer along at every step.

You will be working with a highly skilled cross functional team that will assist you and leverage your expertise.

Responsibilities include:

  • Translate customer test requirements into a hardware concept
  • Understand the tester instrumentation and DUT test requirements,
  • Define and implement the combination of tester instruments and external circuitry to implement these on the PCB
  • Own schematic design and PCB layout
  • Define PCB materials and layout rules for high speed and RF circuits
  • Own prototype functional checkout and validation.
  • Build productive relationships with internal and external business partners
Requirements

Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of ATE experience or similar
  • Experience with SI/PI simulation, and measurement using VNA, TDR and spectrum analyzer equipment
  • Strong knowledge of digital and analog design
  • The preferred candidate will have experience with RF circuit and board design
  • Experience with at least one ATE test platform such as Advantest-93k
  • Demonstrate skill with schematic capture and layout tools, and high-speed layout practices.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB manufacturing
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Work with minimum supervision
Additional Skills Preferred (but not required):

Familiar with:
  • Cadence Allegro, Orcad
  • Keysight ADS, Hyperlynx, CST studio,
  • S- Parameters, eye diagrams, TDR
