This is a specialized role which requires physical interaction with hardware equipment in a simulated data center environment, utilizing Google labs, power, and safety equipment. Regular development and processing of engineering hardware must be performed on site.

Minimum qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  2. 4 years of experience in enterprise hardware systems design, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  3. Experience with hardware bring up, debug, system validation, and testing.
  4. Experience with data center and enterprise hardware products.

Preferred qualifications:

  1. Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  2. 7 years of experience with enterprise class hardware systems design.
  3. 1 year of experience in technical leadership.
  4. Experience with data center engineering, server, storage and networking products.
  5. Experience solving complex system issues, technical innovation, and driving technical roadmaps.
  6. Experience with FPGA/CPLD design, interfacing with other disciplines including firmware, software, signal integrity, thermal, power and mechanical.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a sub-system and hardware design on data center hardware products.
  2. Bring up systems and execute engineering validation in the lab.
  3. Gather requirements, define high level architecture, and execute hardware design and product validation.
  4. Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, product, and deployment teams to productize designs and field support.
  5. Drive product from concept to production.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
