Cubby has aggressive hiring goals in 2025 in order to maintain our growth and hit our ambitious goals. We are seeking a talented and passionate recruiter who has a knack for finding and matching candidates to the right role for them and the business. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in finding and matching candidates at a high-growth startup. As our first in-house recruiter, you will take the lead on filling all open positions in partnership with dedicated hiring managers. You will also play a crucial role in further developing and managing a best-in-class hiring program, working alongside leaders to build the teams that will propel our success.

To start, we expect this role to be roughly 75% recruiting, 25% additional talent acquisition strategy and projects, employer branding, and staff training/coaching. We are looking for candidates who are excited to dive in and learn about a wide range of roles. Examples of roles to be filled next year: Director of Marketing, Full Stack Engineer, Accountant, Financial Analyst, Regulatory Manager, etc.

You will take full ownership of the talent acquisition function, from sourcing and engaging candidates to ensuring an exceptional candidate experience. You will guide our hiring managers through the full process with exceptional organization, communication, and hiring expertise. The ideal candidate is passionate about successful recruiting practices, constantly learning new & effective methods, evaluating current practices, and proactively refining processes to bring the best talent on board.

Here's what you'll be doing
  • Take ownership of all open requisitions - run hiring intake meetings, calibrate with hiring managers on Ideal Candidate Profiles (ICP), source and screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and ensure that job descriptions are aligned with the cultural and strategic needs of the business.
  • Further develop and drive start-to-end strategic talent acquisition plans and processes to attract and retain top talent and deliver a premier candidate experience.
  • Design and execute successful outbound sourcing tactics that attract top talent to Cubby and build out a potential talent pipeline (eg: actively network, develop video content for marketing job opportunities and the company, improve our Careers landing page, etc.). Build out a database that tracks potential future talent.
  • Oversee our ATS to ensure it's being fully utilized and that hiring data remains accurate and up-to-date, report to leadership and staff on health metrics related to hiring.
  • Develop and manage to key KPIs to ensure consistent evaluation and improvements that lead to target results (eg: time to fill, outbound candidate response rates, cost per hire, etc).
  • Provide coaching to the team on effective recruiting strategies, leveraging networks, interviewing techniques, and candidate assessment.
  • Partner with the People Operations team and hiring managers to ensure a successful onboarding process for new hires.
  • Serve as an ultimate representative and champion of the Cubby culture.

Here's what we're looking for

You will have at least
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or extensive relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience recruiting, with some experience at a high-growth startup.
  • Proven success in outbound sourcing.
  • Skilled in running hiring intake meetings, calibrating with hiring managers on Ideal Candidate Profiles (ICP), and delivering top candidate pool.
  • Proficient in managing ATS platforms and ensuring effective usage by the team.
  • Experience in building and maintaining a robust talent pipeline.
  • Deep understanding of current recruitment trends and the ability to implement them effectively, including successfully coaching & guiding hiring managers.
  • A keen ability to select the right people for the right roles.
  • Skilled in collecting and analyzing data to inform decisions and continuously enhance recruiting practices.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with a diverse group of employees and candidates.

  • Previous experience at a talent agency.
