Hours: 15 hours per week maximum, times may vary, afternoon and evening

SUMMARY OF POSITIONS:
This employee is responsible for identifying, recruiting and assisting migrant families that come to Grand Rapids Public Schools.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate.
MENTAL FUNCTIONS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile and negotiate.

JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Visit home, community, business and schools to identify and interview migrant families and completion of Certificate of Eligibility (C.O.E) forms on each eligible family
- Visit schools and homes to determine needs of migrant children and gather education and health information on eligible children
- Maintain close coordination between school personnel and families to assist in areas of need for migrant families
- Maintain file of community resources for referral services to migrant families
- Maintain records and files of migrant students
- Interact with co-workers, administration, students and parents in cooperative, supportive and positive ways
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
REQUIRED QUALIFICAITONS:
- High school diploma or GED required
- College courses preferred
- Valid Michigan driver's license and reliable transportation
- Demonstrated excellent communication verbal and written skills in English and Spanish, required
- Demonstrated ability to relate to children and migrant families
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with school personnel
- Demonstrated experience working with computers
- Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
