Organically Grown (OGC), Northwest's largest independent distributor of fresh, organic produce, is hiring a HR Assistant.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Facilitate the recruitment process, including posting, screenings, interview coordination, notification to non-selected candidates, and application tracking.
  • Assist with the position offer process as needed.
  • Process new hire paperwork, enter coworkers into the HRIS, coordinate company introductions, and assist HRBP with onboarding plans.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation, ensuring a positive coworker introduction to OGC.
  • Maintain HRIS data efficiently. This includes processing status changes, assisting coworkers with the HRIS access, reporting, and other system related needs in a timely manner.
  • Maintain personnel and confidential files within legal compliance standards.
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events, etc., and maintains the team's agenda.
  • Coordinate training sessions and seminars as needed.
  • Provide Clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources Department.
  • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, etc.).
  • Provide support to coworkers, answering questions in relation to policies, benefits, procedures, and other HR related topics: working with the whole HR team to ensure prompt responses.
  • Respond to or redirect HR related calls, emails or inquiries to the appropriate person on the team.
  • Maintain a lens on diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging in all HR activities, programs, and processes.
Requirements:

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Two to four years of experience as an HR Assistant, Administrative Assistant, or relevant human resources/administrative position.
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws preferred.
  • Experience using MS Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Bilingual strongly preferred (Spanish and English speaking).
  • Ability to multi-task and excellent time management.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information including pay data, disciplinary actions, LOA-related topics, etc.
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and act in a professional manner.
  • Strong computer skills required; includes the ability to quickly learn new computer systems and programs.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to sit for long periods, hear and converse over the telephone, in person, and on a computer. Requires the ability to accurately receive and disseminate information to maintain and enhance relationships. Requires ability to travel and occasional overnight travel. Standing, stooping, and bending are required. Ability to meet the above description of position with or without reasonable accommodation.
