We are offering a contract for a permanent position as a Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Charlottesville, Virginia. As a part of our team, you will serve as a liaison between staff, management, and vendors, manage recruitment efforts for the agency, assist with onboarding efforts, oversee the employee recognition program, and maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
• Greet staff and vendors, answer general HR inquiries, and manage the HR email inbox and telephone line.
• Maintain an understanding of Human Resources policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations to assist staff with inquiries such as FMLA, Workers Compensation, Leave Request, Direct Deposit changes, etc.
• Establish and maintain relationships with hiring managers, review and revise job descriptions, create and manage employment advertisements, and attend job fairs.
• Assist with collection of onboarding paperwork and issue staff identification badges and access cards.
• Oversee the employee recognition program, including mailing employee birthday cards and managing the service anniversary gift program.
• Perform document and data collection related to the daily operations of Human Resources, including data entry, tracking, data assurance, and reporting.
• Manage and maintain employee files and documents, including filing into physical files and scanning into electronic records.
• Maintain a working knowledge and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and make recommendations on best practices.• Position: Human Resources (HR) Assistant
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now
• Knowledge of ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode
• Familiarity with Ceridian software
• Experience in HRMS (Human Resource Management System)
• Experience using About Time software
• Auditing skills are required
• Must be capable of conducting Background Checks
• Experience with Benefit Functions is necessary
• Excellent Customer Service skills are essential
