HR MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION:

As the Human Resource Manager, you will provide hands-on support and execution for all employee lifecycle aspects, including hiring, onboarding, employee development, recognition, benefits, employee relations, compensation, and Compliance. Additionally, you will serve as a trusted resource providing insight and practical solutions to help sustain the continued growth of the Summit SD business strategy. The HR Manager will report directly to the Director of Business Administration.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Collaborates with the leadership team and managers to understand the organization’s goals and desired outcomes related to employee engagement and culture, hiring, manager and employee development, employee relations, and compliance.

  • With the organization's goals and desired outcomes in mind, plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, and training to support hiring and onboarding, manager and employee development, employee relations, and compliance.
  • Oversees and provides hands-on execution of the recruitment, interview, selection, and hiring processes and develops and executes best hiring and talent management practices.
  • Oversees and provides hands-on execution for the administration of human resource programs, including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, and investigations.
  • Serve as a consultant to advise managers on various workplace challenges and provide practical training for managers on employee relations practices.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Responsible for ensuring all employee-related procedures and documentation adhere to external accreditation and compliance standards.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources; applies this knowledge to communicate policy, procedure, and resource changes to the leadership team.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience handling the day-to-day responsibilities of running an HR function while evaluating and implementing new processes and approaches to enable business growth, support employee engagement, and retain critical talent.
  • Experience operating in an entrepreneurial environment with the ability to quickly adapt to the organization's and employees' changing needs.
  • Thorough knowledge of day-to-day activities, actions, and processes to support hiring, employee relations, and state, federal, and local compliance regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

  • Proven ability to establish high levels of trust with all levels of the organization and always maintain confidentiality.

  • Experience working collaboratively and partnering with external consultants, legal resources, and other vendors.

    1. This role requires a physical presence at our Lee's Summit, Missouri, location. The employee is expected to be on-site during regular business hours.

    4. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources is required
  • A minimum of five years of human resource management experience is preferred.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP is highly preferred.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regular agencies, or members of the business community.

Travel and Work Location

  • In-office during regular business hours to allow for the highest level of collaboration with other departments.
