Job Description

Who We Are

In an increasingly complex world where people are starving for someone they can trust, we stand for something simple: always put the client first. We do well by doing good for those we serve. It’s the ultimate measure. We believe in providing value beyond a doubt and in the notion that time will either expose you or promote you, based on your willingness to embrace change.

We serve financial advisors and investors through three entities, each headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska: Carson Wealth, Carson Coaching and Carson Partners. We provide coaching and partnership services to advisor firms – and straightforward financial advice to the investing public. We all share a common mission to be the most trusted in financial advice.

Who We Want

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-oriented Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our network of smaller advisor offices. The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor to business leaders in these offices, helping to shape and implement HR strategies that drive organizational performance, employee engagement, and talent development while maintaining a high standard of compliance and operational excellence. As an HRBP at the Director level, you will play a key role in aligning our HR programs with business objectives and driving a high-performance culture in our smaller, client-facing advisor teams.

What To Expect

  • Strategic HR Partnership:
    • Serve as the primary HR partner for leadership within smaller advisor offices, aligning HR initiatives with business goals to enhance organizational effectiveness and performance.
    • Advise senior leaders and managers on organizational design, talent development, workforce planning, and performance management to optimize business results.
    • Act as a trusted coach and advisor to business leaders, providing guidance on leadership development, employee engagement, and conflict resolution.
  • Talent Acquisition and Development:
    • Collaborate with the recruitment team to develop and execute targeted talent acquisition strategies that attract top talent to smaller advisor offices, ensuring a high-quality client service experience.
    • Lead the design and delivery of leadership development programs, talent reviews, and succession planning efforts to ensure a strong pipeline of future leaders within the advisor offices.
    • Promote and support employee learning and development programs that enhance client-facing skills, business acumen, and professional growth for advisors and staff.
  • Employee Engagement and Culture:
    • Champion initiatives to foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture across all advisor offices, ensuring that firm values, client service excellence, and employee satisfaction are at the forefront.
    • Partner with leadership to implement employee engagement surveys and use feedback to inform strategies for continuous improvement and retention.
    • Ensure alignment of business goals with the firm’s mission and vision, facilitating employee alignment and engagement in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
  • HR Operations & Compliance:
    • Partner with HR operations and compliance teams to ensure consistent, compliant HR practices across all advisor offices, including compensation, benefits, labor law compliance, and HR policies.
    • Address complex employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and ensure resolution in alignment with company policies and legal requirements.
    • Oversee the performance management process, ensuring that it is executed consistently and aligns with the firm’s goals and values.
  • Change Management & Organizational Development:
    • Lead organizational change initiatives and advise leadership on managing transitions, restructuring, or scaling in response to changing business demands.
    • Act as a key change agent in driving organizational effectiveness and improvement, ensuring clear communication and stakeholder buy-in throughout the process.
    • Work with business leaders to identify opportunities for operational improvements and collaborate on creating solutions that foster organizational agility.
  • Performance and Metrics:
    • Develop and report on key HR metrics and KPIs, evaluating the effectiveness of HR initiatives in driving business outcomes, employee satisfaction, and organizational health.
    • Provide data-driven insights to senior management, helping to inform decisions on talent management, employee retention, and overall business strategy.
  • Leadership & Team Collaboration:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of HR professionals (if applicable) focused on the needs of the advisor offices, promoting best practices and continuous learning within the HR function.
    • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with other departments, including business operations, compliance, and leadership teams, to drive a unified and cohesive organizational approach.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; professional HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred
  • Minimum 10+ years of HR experience, with at least 5+ years in an HRBP or senior HR leadership role
  • Strong background in employee relations, talent management, leadership development, and organizational design within a regulated industry
  • Experience with performance management systems, HR technology, and using data analytics to drive HR strategies
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business needs into effective HR solutions and strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a track record of driving change and improvement in HR practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated success in fostering employee engagement, retention, and culture-building in client-facing environments.

In exchange for your expertise, we offer a base salary, bonus potential, 401(k) plus matching, health benefits, and a great working environment. This is your chance to play a key role in the continued success of our company. Our culture is fast-paced, collaborative, innovative, and focused on healthy living.
