We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Specialist in Lansing, michigan. In this role, you will be working in the non-profit sector, where your primary responsibilities will include the review of financial reports and ensuring that allocated funds meet the specific requirements of various grants.


Responsibilities:


• Undertake a thorough review and analysis of financial reports

• Ensure that all funds are allocated in accordance with grant stipulations

• Effectively process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Handle the processing of purchase orders and expense reports

• Conduct regular account reconciliation tasks

• Implement measures to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency in all transactions.

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP), including invoice processing, payment processing, and vendor communication.

• Skilled in managing Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoice generation, cash application, and customer communication.

• Demonstrated ability in Financial Analysis, including financial modeling, forecasting, and trend analysis.

• Knowledge of non-profit industry financial regulations and standards.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on managing financial discrepancies.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to liaise effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.

• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within the non-profit sector.

• Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all work.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is a plus.
