The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) seeks an Accounting Intern to directly assist the Accounting Department with a range of projects related to account reconciliation, invoicing, payroll preparation and more. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical to provide an intern with the opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job training within a professional setting. Ideal candidates should be pursuing an undergraduate degree in accounting. Candidate must be available to complete the eight-week hybrid (two in-office days) internship program during Summer 2025 and work 40 hours per week. Compensation for this internship will be a wage of $20.00 per hour.

As an Accounting Intern at MSRB, you will collaborate directly with our esteemed Accounting Department on a range of projects. Your responsibilities will span essential financial functions, from meticulous account reconciliations to supporting documentation for tax returns and audits.

Account Reconciliation:
Rising undergraduate junior currently enrolled at an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Accounting. This position requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel, attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and excellent communication skills. Must have the ability to handle confidential information and work independently to prioritize and complete project work.

- Demonstrate precision in navigating and reconciling diverse financial accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
- Engage in the preparation of payroll, contributing to the seamless disbursement of remuneration.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly adjusting journal entries, maintaining the integrity of financial records.
- Exhibit proficiency in loading and coding vendor invoices, facilitating a streamlined approval process.
- Assist with preparing Excel schedules used as support for various research projects and audit support
- Assist with administrative duties
