JOB SUMMARY

The Accounting Manager is responsible for accuracy of financial information and adherence to GAAP. The Accounting Manager reports to the Senior Finance Manager. This position is responsible for reconciling all trial balance accounts. The Accounting Manager will also prepare and distribute the monthly financials and assist the CFO and Finance team with reports and analyses. The Accounting Manager monitors compliance with accounting principles and supports fiscal best practices throughout Park Center. As a key member of the Finance Department, the Accounting Manager will assist with developing standards and processes for proper financial management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. General Ledger
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, revenue accounts, and all balance sheet accounts.
  • Review general ledger activity regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Monitor and report on capital project spending to budget.

2. Payroll

  • Processes payroll bi-weekly
  • Reviews and posts Employee benefits.
  • Liaise with HR staff on employee deductions as they relate the monthly invoices.
  • Creates and files all Payroll reports

3. Deposits

  • Prepares deposit summary for weekly deposits.
  • Enters Rent and contribution payments into FE
  • Take Truist deposits to bank

4. Billing

  • Received VR invoices and enters those on the tracking sheet
  • Review and reconcile Billing revenue monthly

5. Reporting

  • Prepares monthly consolidated and department financials
  • Prepares ad hoc reports and analysis as needed to support decision making.

6. Annual Projects

  • Assists with and prepares documents for annual agency budget process.
  • Assists with and prepares documents for all agency audits.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures to create an effective system of internal control and accuracy.

  • Take deliberate steps to increase your own cultural competency by attending trainings, events, discussions, workshops, etc.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred. Or High school graduate and a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar role; non-profit experience required.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports in a timely fashion.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel and Word,
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills
  • Keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data.
  • Good communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships.

Working Conditions

  • Workers may be in a single or shared office environment in a building with a lot of program activity daily.
  • Workers may be exposed to an interruption rich environment as tasks are done daily throughout the building.
  • Workers are subject to an open-door policy.

Physical Demands

  • Sedentary work involves sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced position with many deadlines and competing demands.
  • Can be stressful as responsible for the financial standing of organization.
  • Employees are occasionally required to sit for long periods; use hands to fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds. Visual ability to detect errors.
  • Workers may be required to limited travel within the city for trainings and or staff meetings.
