The St. Louis Midland Division Salvation Army located at 1130 Hampton Ave., in St. Louis, MO seeks a temporary Accounting Specialist.
This a full-time temporary position which does not have benefits.
Job Objective
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for account coding and data entry of accounts payable and receipting transactions. Position is expected to comply with and meet The Salvation Army, Federal, State and Local policies and standards. This position is expected to advance and support the Mission of The Salvation Army.
Essential Functions
- Monitor shared mailboxes to print documentation, responding or forwarding as needed
- Accurately process, code and record invoices, reimbursement requests and cash receipts
- Accurately process, code and record receipting transactions
- Update and maintain cash logs
- Print checks as assigned
- Perform administrative support tasks including scanning documentation and preparing checks for mailing

Minimum Qualifications
High School/GED and some college level courses in accounting/related field with two years accounting/related field work experience. Combination of training and experience will be considered. Proficient in computer use with knowledge and experience in creating and updating spreadsheets, data entry and computerized accounting.
Requires a high level of confidentiality, must be a team player, a self-starter, and perform well with minimum supervision.
Physical and Working Conditions
Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include using a computer, answering phones, etc. Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.
Employee Status
Full-Time for 90 Days. Normal work hours will be determined with supervisor.
