Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Accounting Manager to join our business. This position is primarily responsible for managing and overseeing daily operations of the accounting department.



Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and provide back up to a team of accounting clerks that includes Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Billing functions.
  • Treasury management of multiple bank accounts with the ability to perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations accurately.
  • Managing the month close process to assist in producing monthly financial statements.
  • Managing the subledgers with monthly journal entries for inventory, fixed assets, prepaid, and accrued expenses.
  • Produce sales reports and calculate sales commissions earned by our sales team.
  • Coordinating or assisting with the budget process.
  • Researching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Serving as a liaison to external auditors.
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with the preparation of property tax and sales tax filings.
  • Focus on cost control initiatives.
  • Works with Corporate IT department to secure proprietary information and trade secrets
  • Assure compliance with Federal, State, and Local financial legal requirements. Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Accomplishes results by performing the duty whenever necessary.


Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in relevant major

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar position
  • Experience supporting the accounting function in the Metals industry or Industrial Distribution work environment
