Purpose:
Responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions related to the preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgeting, and other financial tasks.
General Description:
Assists with administrative as well as accounting functions for the organization. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with external audit
- Reconciling accounts
- Preparing annual reports for all applicable states
- Organizing both federal and state tax returns
- Completing journal entries
- Interfacing with suppliers and vendors
- Answer inquiries from departments
- Open and process AP mail that comes in by post and email
- Follow internal control processes
- Prepare reporting in SAP including collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statements and other relevant reports
- Review, investigate and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents and reports
- Perform other related duties as required
General Requirements:
- Post Secondary education in Business Administration in Accounting or Finance
- Must possess computer experience in MS Office (Excel & Word)
- Recent related experience (preferably 1 year+)
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills, Spanish an asset
- Experience in data entry and with Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Demonstrated keyboard proficiency and the ability to operate an adding machine
- Possess strong inter-personal, organizing and communication skills
