Purpose:

Responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions related to the preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgeting, and other financial tasks.

General Description:

Assists with administrative as well as accounting functions for the organization. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with external audit
  • Reconciling accounts
  • Preparing annual reports for all applicable states
  • Organizing both federal and state tax returns
  • Completing journal entries
  • Interfacing with suppliers and vendors
  • Answer inquiries from departments
  • Open and process AP mail that comes in by post and email
  • Follow internal control processes
  • Prepare reporting in SAP including collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statements and other relevant reports
  • Review, investigate and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents and reports
  • Perform other related duties as required



Requirements:

General Requirements:

  • Post Secondary education in Business Administration in Accounting or Finance
  • Must possess computer experience in MS Office (Excel & Word)
  • Recent related experience (preferably 1 year+)
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills, Spanish an asset
  • Experience in data entry and with Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Demonstrated keyboard proficiency and the ability to operate an adding machine
  • Possess strong inter-personal, organizing and communication skills
