Accounting Assistant:

Fast growing Property Management Company seeks a detail-oriented person to perform a variety of bookkeeping and administrative tasks. We are seeking an individual with a professional demeanor who is efficient and comfortable being a member of a team, but who is able to work independently in various capacities. The ability to multi-task is essential in this position. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service background and be able to discuss account financials and delinquencies with customers over the phone.

Duties of this position include providing support to our Controller, assisting in daily office needs and managing our company's general administrative activities. Responsibilities include accounts payable/ receivable, scheduling meetings, preparing reports and maintaining appropriate filing systems. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools, like MS Excel and office equipment. If you have previous experience within our industry, we'd like to meet you. Ultimately, a successful employee should ensure the efficient and smooth day-to-day operation of our office.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts receivable
  • Process accounts payable according to the budget
  • Process collections for delinquent homeowner
  • Schedule meetings and take detailed minutes.
  • Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms.
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
  • Maintain electronic filing system
  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Review & Submit financial reports
  • Research and troubleshoot accounting issues and make corrections as necessary
Skills
  • 2 - 5 years bookkeeping experience
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machines
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to learn management software
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • High School degree; additional qualification as an Administrative assistant or Secretary will be a plus
