Summary You will serve as a SECRETARY (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in Code 290 of PSNS and IMF. GS-06: $49,400 - $64,222 GS-07: $54,896 - $71,366 Responsibilities You will respond to routine and non-technical request for information such as status reports, suspense dates for matters requiring compliance, and similar information readily available from files. You will compile and issue various daily, weekly, monthly and/or quarterly reports, as well as one-of-a-kind reports. You will obtain and provide background information on various subject matter and presents information to supervisors prior to scheduled phone calls, visitors or meetings. You will establish and maintain files primarily for the use of the division including material such as correspondence and reports. You will draft computer generated correspondence (e.g., memos, reports, graphs, indices, statistics) using Microsoft Office applications. You will maintain and control the supervisor's calendars, advising on daily appointments or conferences. You will prepare and submit request for personnel actions on behalf of the office. You will closely review correspondence or other action documents compiled by the staff for completeness, format, adherence to stated office policy and for grammatical correctness prior to presentation to the supervisor for signature. You will arrange for travel, schedules visits and reservations. Creates and reviews travel orders in the Defense Travel System (DTS) and assists in completion of travel claims or travel vouchers. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing clerical and administrative support such as preparing and disseminating correspondence or memoranda, maintaining and controlling electronic calendars, receiving and screening visitors/phone calls, arranging travel reservations, and maintaining filing systems utilizing office automation to support assigned office(s) in an organization. GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing clerical assistance such as scheduling appointments and reservations, answering phone calls, and filing records or reports using office automation to support assigned office(s) in an organization.
