The bilingual (English/Spanish) Business/Administrative Associate I is responsible for the business and service operations of Latin American and Latino Studies. This position handles all financial management for the department, including day-to-day financial operations, office management, travel planning, managing student employees, assisting with contracts, and ensuring the supply chain of goods and services to faculty. This position also involves curriculum planning, human resources, and helping with graduate and undergraduate programs.
The employee processes paperwork for visitors from Latin America and exclusively Spanish speakers. This has often entailed verbal communications as well as letters. In addition, we hold events in the community and need someone who can field questions from Spanish speaking partners and media.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position.
- Two (2) years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience.
- Must be able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in both English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA in an appropriate field (Latin American Studies, Latino Studies, Ethnic Studies, Gender Studies, other related interdisciplinary field, social science, humanities).
- Master's degree or substantial graduate credits.
