ECS is seeking talented and driven professionals to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). In this role, you will serve as a scientific and technical advisor to ARPA-H-enabling the agency to manage and provide oversight to advanced R&D efforts; help shape future R&D concepts, programs, and solutions; integrate and advance our nation's healthcare ecosystem processes, policies, and enabling technologies; and enable the agency to expand its healthcare and scientific scope into yet unknown areas. As a "systems engineering and technical assistance" advisor, you will provide support to R&D performer teams, Government Program Managers, and stakeholders across the health innovation ecosystem. Position Responsibilities:
Cybersecurity Engineering Leadership:
Lead the development and maintenance of cybersecurity engineering concepts of operations and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensure effective cybersecurity engineering practices across all systems, with a focus on AI integrations and emerging cybersecurity threats.
Cybersecurity Operations & Risk Management:
Provide guidance, analysis, and expertise in conducting cybersecurity operations and risk management, including the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to monitor and respond to cybersecurity incidents and implement operational risk management strategies.
AI & Cybersecurity Advisory:
Advise on all AI/cybersecurity-related activities, including the establishment and implementation of cybersecurity principles for AI systems.
Develop and maintain an AI risk management guide, ensuring AI systems are designed and operated in compliance with best practices and cybersecurity requirements.
Offer guidance on implementing AI-specific cybersecurity requirements, security controls, and industry best practices for AI risk mitigation.
AI/Cybersecurity Risk Analysis and Strategy:
Conduct technical risk analysis for AI and cybersecurity, ensuring risk factors are identified, mitigated, and communicated effectively to key stakeholders.
Provide expert advice on AI strategy optimization and its application to enterprise programs and business operations, with a strong focus on security and risk management.
Collaboration and Cross-Functional Team Leadership:
Build and lead cross-functional teams focused on AI cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring collaboration across departments and with external stakeholders.
Promote best practices in AI data analysis, cybersecurity operations, and risk management across teams.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $200,000
General Description of Benefits PhD in Cybersecurity, Computational Biology or related scientific fields
15 Years of relevant experience
Extensive experience in cybersecurity engineering, operations, and incident response, with a particular focus on AI and cybersecurity integration.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management principles, and incident response strategies.
Proven experience in large-scale, high-dimensional AI and data analysis, with an ability to integrate AI systems securely within enterprise environments.
Expertise in the application of AI technologies in the context of cybersecurity risk management and strategic implementation.
Experience building cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration across departments to achieve strategic AI/cybersecurity goals.
Ability to lead teams in dynamic, high-stakes environments, driving initiatives to successful implementation while maintaining strong security protocols.
Deep knowledge of AI cybersecurity best practices and industry standards.
Proven ability to provide expert advice on the implementation and optimization of AI cybersecurity strategies across enterprise programs.
Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, analyze data, and write reports.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong work ethic and a passion for healthcare and scientific discovery.
U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required per contract.
