Position Overview

The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will bring 10 years of experience to designing mechanical systems that align with the owners vision. The role requires a strong understanding of the consulting engineering process and related contracts.


Responsibilities

  • Define project scope and use software to design mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection).
  • Create cost-effective layouts, ensure code compliance, and verify design specifications.
  • Prepare and coordinate BIM drawings with other disciplines throughout all project phases.
  • Oversee construction tasks like site visits, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing punch lists.
  • Ensure project scope is reflected in contract documents and manage any changes to keep projects on track.
  • Maintain good communication with clients, partners, and other project teams.
  • Mentor junior mechanical designers.
  • Perform other duties as needed.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10 years of experience in mechanical design for commercial buildings (aviation, healthcare, education, etc.).
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • 5 years of experience working with multi-discipline engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with design-build and other project delivery methods.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and national codes.
  • Proficient in Revit MEP and other engineering software.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft O365, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
