Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Manager of Partner Integration. Reporting to the Director of Partner Integration, this position is responsible for being directly involved in the firm's growth strategy by driving our innovative integration methodology and expanding our centralized integration program. This position will also plan and execute on a variety of directives from the Managing Partner of Practice.
This position can be resident in the Philadelphia, Washington DC, Boston, Los Angeles or NY offices and a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule is available.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
- Developing and executing three phases of the new partner process: transition, orientation and integration.
- Planning for Day 1 readiness and onboarding.
- Tracking each lateral partner's integration progress and identifying ways to maximize success.
- Managing each partner's experience participating in the firm's two-year integration program.
- Managing the milestones of the candidate's onboarding process; mobilizing necessary support for initial transition of new lateral partners and groups.
- Ensuring integration plan is developed, regularly updated and executed.
- Serving as a counselor and coach as new partners navigate the firm's support structure.
- Facilitating integration of newly promoted partners; working closely with firm and practice group leaders on each new partner's integration progress and identifying ways to maximize success; designing and implementing monthly partner education programs and annual New Partner Orientation.
- Providing ongoing communications to new partners and other stakeholders to maximize the firm's investments in lateral growth.
- Researching and analyzing key trends related to lateral partner and group activity in the legal market.
- Adhering to Department budget; seeking opportunities to improve Department efficiency and reduce expenses by streamlining operations.
- The Manager of Partner Integration may supervise or provide direction to non-supervisory employees.
- Facilitating the development of staff by providing opportunities and support; providing timely feedback on work product; regularly coaching, evaluating, and recognizing staff performance and accomplishments.
Experience and qualifications needed to perform this job successfully:
- Bachelor's degree and seven years of relevant professional experience, including leadership experience. Law firm experience is preferred in any of these areas: partner recruiting/integration, attorney recruiting, HR or talent management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and be responsive to changing priorities.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external clients.
- Team player who is committed to superior standards of professionalism and productivity.
- Ability to build solid relationships at all levels in the firm.
- Discretion in dealing with confidential information.
- Detail-oriented work manner, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
