Job Summary
The Field Service Lead Technician/Millwright is responsible for managing a successful belting crew by maintaining a safety centered, quaility focused, and efficiency driven team(s).
This is accomplished by:
- Following RGA Health and Safety Policies.
- Following RGA Splicing Procedures.
- Maintaining all required documents for OSHA, MSHA, Rigging, and DOT.
- Ensuring all belting equipment (i.e., Belt Truck, Trailer(s), Generator(s), Winder(s), Press(es), Tool(s), Tool Boxes, etc.) is ready for service. (Maintenanced, Cleaned, and Organized)
- Leading and training belt crew technicians how to safely and effectively install, splice (Mechanical & Vulcanize), and track conveyor belts.
- Effectively troubleshoot conveyor systems.
Essential Requirements
- Repair, splice and vulcanize all types of conveyor belts, ability to troubleshoot and install belts on conveyors and train conveyor belts
- Ability to work in a timely manner, to demonstrate attention to detail, to follow RGA policies and procedures, to uphold RGA values and maintain regular and timely attendance
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Possess Critical Thinking Characteristics.
- Must have ability to operate a commercial motor vehicle in accordance with applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations
- Must possess and maintain a positive attitude.
- Willing to work weekends, holidays, and off-hour schedules.
- Effective Communication Skills.
- Basic Computer Skills, i.e., Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Belt Crew Technicians.
Education and Experience
- 1 yr experience as a millwright or conveyor belt repair, splice and vulcanization.
- Preferred: 1 yr of experience leading of a team
- Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- Must have a valid, active Driver's License with an insurable driving record.
- Must be able to obtain a DOT Health Card.
- Must be able to obtain MSHA Certification.
- Must be able to obtain an OSHA 10 Certification.
- May be required to pass a fit test for a respirator.
Travel
- Extensive Travel at Peak Times.
- Minimal lengthy out of town trip(s).
Physical Demands
- Ability to occasionally lift at least 100 lbs, and 50 lbs frequently.
- Must be able to repetitively stand, climb, stoop, crouch, reach, walk, and bend.
- Must be able to work long hours.
- Must be able to talk and hear.
