Description:

The Production Planner position is primarily responsible for coordinating, expediting, and supervising the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to the production schedule. We are looking for someone that understands the production planning thought process. Duties include reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules, compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Plans and manages production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements that best utilize the company’s production capacity.

- Plans and schedules workflow for custom part orders according to established lead times, running daily work bench, creating job orders, updating safety stock, and delivering job order packets.

- Releases and schedules work orders based on system messages, including verifying inventory, sales forecasts, and customer order due dates (coordinating with purchasing and sales)

- Analyze lot size and production cost to determine efficient quantity production runs.

- Confers closely with department supervisor regarding status updates, changes, and exceptions of assigned projects.

- Performs constant review of work in progress.

- Responsible for updating weekly production schedule.

- Analyzes knowledge and skill of available employees to ensure that they are skilled for the tasks that they are assigned and trained for the tasks where they require more knowledge.

- Supervises production employees and assigns work tasks as required.

- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned by management.

Requirements:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

minimum three years’ experience in production planning in a manufacturing environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Education may be substituted if the candidate possesses appropriate knowledge, skill, and working experience.


OTHER EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

- Requires solid critical thinking and interpersonal skills.

- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

- Knowledge of office software

- A working knowledge of SyteLine and/or other ERP manufacturing software is a must.

- A proven track record of success that includes administrative management, facilities, creative problem-solving and business partner experience is desired.

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Theories of Constraint (TOC), and other Continuous Process Improvement fundamentals is preferred.

- Professional, outgoing, guest-service related oriented manner.

- Remain calm and professional during stressful situations.

- Must be detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines and benchmarks.

- Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision.

- Must work well under pressure.

- Must be able to manage multiple projects.

- Strong leader skilled in managing subordinate knowledge and skills for required tasks.

- Be familiar with Odoo ERP software.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

- Able to work a flexible schedule to the possibility of including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- Use of safety glasses, steel toed shoes, and other PPE are required as needed.

- Familiarized with the ISO 9001-2015 Requirements

- Must have reliable transportation.
