The Production Operations Manager will ensure production forecasts are met and drive continuous improvement through the manufacturing process. They will provide hands-on support and direction to the operations team and ensure the quality and safety of the operation while driving continuous improvement of manufacturing. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and repair of SolarEdge ATE test stations, fixtures, and production related equipment
- Responsible for production, including daily production planning, delivery to plan, production costs, first pass yield, safety, quality targets, and production staffing
- Manage a team of production supervisors while pushing metric goals and directing operations on the production floor
- Support upgrades, new products, and material introductions by supporting design teams, creating process plans, tracking budget costs and project schedules, and developing countermeasures to ensure completion of project goals
- Develop and deliver continuous improvement initiatives in safety, environmental, quality, cost, efficiency, and productivity objectives. Provide feedback to management on issues; benchmark other organizations for best practices.
- Lead by example of positive reinforcement and support Solar Edge in its world-class manufacturing organization while working with cross-functional teams to meet business goals
- Responsible for hiring, training, performance evaluations, incident reporting, and disciplinary actions
- Create and enforce training plans and processes for the production team members
- Ensure team member safety by proactively identifying and correcting hazards, conducting regular training, and encouraging continuous improvement recommendations from the team
- Drive high-quality standards in everything we do, such as process control systems, monitoring and managing key product metrics, consistency in documentation, and 5S initiatives
- Awareness of raw material availability and potential production constraints
- Constantly looking to correct inefficiencies and improve production processes
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- BS degree in a scientific or technical field; OR AS with 5+ years equivalent manufacturing experience
- Proven 5+ years production team management experience; high-volume production experience preferred
- Strong leadership skills
- Must be available to work between shifts and after hours as needed to attain business success
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Strong sense of urgency and self-motivation
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team atmosphere
- Experience hiring and training new production associates
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels within the organization, both verbally and written
- 5S and/or lean manufacturing processes experience preferred
- Advanced electrical safety knowledge and trainings preferred
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 10%
