The NJ Courts Office of Management and Administrative Services is seeking a detail-oriented individual with excellent customer service skills to join our Human Resources Division. The selected individual will play a vital role in the Placement Unit by providing recruiters with critical administrative support, recruitment coordination, customer service and a variety of other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Remote Work: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Example of Duties:

  • Provide excellent customer service and accurate information to internal and external customers.
  • Greet all visitors to the Human Resources office and ensure consistent coverage.
  • Schedule and confirm interviews, send notifications and generate reports using the applicant tracking system.
  • Prepare, format and distribute interview packets to the hiring panels.
  • Administer writing sample and typing tests to interviewees, distribute copies of the results to the hiring panel and track in SharePoint.
  • Escort interviewees to their designated interview location or moderate virtual interviews.
  • Conduct reference checks and employment verifications.
  • Prepare confidential correspondence.
  • Onboard new hires using the applicant tracking system.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and perform fingerprinting.
  • Accurately record real-time recruitment data on the timeline.
  • Coordinate with recruiters to close recruitments including uploading documents to the applicant tracking system and the electronic employee file.

Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.

Salary range is $42,827.46 - $58,067.99. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: One year of experience in an office environment performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, reconciling balances or accounts and/or scheduling meetings or appointments.

Testing: Applicants selected to interview must pass an appointing authority administered examination to demonstrate keyboarding skills at the Judiciary standard of at least 25 words per minute, or must have otherwise demonstrated this competency as detailed below.

The appointing authority administered examination is waived for the following applicants who have been deemed to possess keyboarding skills at the Judiciary standard of 25 words per minute:

  • All applicants who possess a current typing proficiency certification issued by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission or the New Jersey Judiciary.
  • Judiciary staff that have permanent status in a career service title requiring a keyboarding, typing or stenography test.
  • Judiciary staff in unclassified titles requiring a keyboarding, typing or stenography test.

Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.

Driver's License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.

Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
