Essential Functions:

  • Effectively oversees production staff according to established schedules objectives, business strategies and company policies and procedures
  • Assures that all assigned employees are thoroughly trained for their performance of their assigned tasks
  • Promote teamwork and open communications with all employees
  • Reviews and approves employee time records, including leave approvals in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Supervises the conduct and behavior of all department employees to ensure the adherence of policies, procedures and rules of conduct
  • Completes performance evaluations including recommended wage and classification changes to Building Manager.
  • Working from a master schedule and/or from planning documents, schedules various operations required to meet the company needs for receiving and handling of raw materials to ensure proper production processing.
  • Plans and determines internal resource needs and constraints and develops production scheduled to ensure effective achievement of company needs.
  • Selects candidates for hire and/or transfer into different positions
  • Ensure that the product can be made at the size and quality the customer is requesting
  • Verifies that ticket information is correct, contains no inconsistencies and meets customers expectation
  • Manages proper inventory levels of raw goods
  • Practices and enforces safety rules and standards
  • Ensures that orders are completed according to customers needs.
  • Must be able to work and respond in a fast paced environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

  • High School graduate and/or five (5) years related experience in a fast pace manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience supervising a group of employees, including hiring, coaching and developing
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate employees
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Management and supervisor principles and practices
  • Computer literate
  • Math Skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High sense of urgency
