- Establish/follow the standards for documenting machine settings/parameters to successfully perform the routed steps for assigned work centers. Develop/enhance processes to optimize safety and efficiency.
- Create work instructions that ensure a quality product is built safely and efficiently.
- Create training programs to enhance employee's capabilities and safety.
- Optimize department layouts. Maintain the electronic version of the layout.
- Identify and eliminate wastes in assigned processes. Lead process improvement projects. Receive and analyze feedback. Establish rules for establishing correct rates for each work center.
- Attend tooling/fixture review meetings and provide feedback for improving proposed tooling/fixtures. Evaluate current tooling and take steps to make improvements if necessary. Evaluate new tools/fixtures to determine if they meet production-ready requirements. Establish rules for tooling design.
- Attend APQP and CFT meetings. Complete duties as assigned.
- Perform feasibilities when requested. Provide feedback to Quoting on rate errors and rules to establish rates.
- Perform regular Manufacturing Process Audits per the audit schedule.
- Be a positive driving force in workplace/workstation safety, including machine safety and ergonomics. Support safe and efficient material and tool handling, movement, and storage.
- Evaluate current equipment and new technologies for ways to upgrade our manufacturing processes.
- Run projects through a controlled system, closing these projects in a timely fashion.
- Use problem-solving tools to evaluate issues. Participate and Run CARs when needed.
- Collaborate with other Manufacturing Engineers, Production Department personnel, and management to ensure a well-integrated manufacturing operation
