The Crystals Manufacturing team is responsible for producing advanced optical components for internal customers within the IPG Photonics organization. The Manufacturing Engineer will support production, new product development, planning, training, reporting, and much more.
- Support process development for fabricating new crystal materials and components.
- Create process sheets for the manufacturing process.
- Release work to the production floor and help with scheduling/reporting.
- Troubleshoot technical issues to determine root cause in production.
- Assists in the training of new operators according to documented standard procedures.
- Create and maintain all Standard Operating Procedures for the Fabrication department.
- Manage inventory of consumables and place orders to replenish as required.
- Design tooling/fixtures to support fabrication operation.
- Investigate new equipment to improve quality and efficiencies.
Requirements:
- BS degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with operating manual or automated cutting equipment is preferable.
- Previous experience with CAD (SolidWorks).
- Proficiency with Excel.
- Must be able to interpret part drawings and have an understanding of geometric dimensions & tolerances.
- Ability to guide technicians and assign work.
- Self-starter, with demonstrated ability to follow-through and strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills.
