Position: Manufacturing Engineer
Position Description: - The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, specifying, acquiring and launching processes and equipment to assure compliance with all company and regulatory requirements and specifications including safety. quality, cost, and material aspects. This position develops and leads projects, supervises the generation of technical documentation to support manufacturing as well as analyze and change existing processes for continuous improvement. This position provides on-going support for run-the-business problem resolution for product and process concerns as well as new product and operating system development initiatives.
- The Purpose of this role is to assist the company to successfully achieve manufacturing goals and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. The manufacturing engineer will receive work assignments from the Manufacturing Manager and will apply problem solving methodologies to process improvement.
- Due to Federal ITAR requirements,
- Strong mechanical aptitude is required.
- Proven experience and success in using applied knowledge in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, machine controls and new technology disciplines will be essential for helping to drive plant operations to consistently higher levels of performance and capacity.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience is required. 5-7 years is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Computer / Software Knowledge:
- Microsoft Office Software
- Photo Editing for equipment boards
- SolidWorks
Preferred Knowledge:
- Punch and die design for sheet metal fabrication
- Various means of welding: resistance, micro-TIG and laser
- CNC machining and deburring processes
- Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma initiatives
- Oversee production problem solving for tooling
- Monitor production tooling and machines for potential problems
- Perform Continuous Improvement activities for tooling, manufactured parts and company processes
- Participate in training programs provided by the company
- Report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager
- Create and revise manufacturing processes through company Engineering Order (EO) program
- Involvement with Preventative Maintenance initiatives by the company
- Design tooling used for part fabrication
- Work with Quality Assurance in a Material Review Board for the disposition of non-conforming products
- Determine Root Cause and Corrective Actions for non-conformances
- Involvement with prototype and new production development
- Must be able to read part drawings included Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Analytical skills to look at and measure parts to determine acceptability and improvements
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Location: Recco Filters, 702 S Main St, Wayland, MI 49348 (equidistant to Grand Rapids & Kalamazoo).
- Classification: Full Time, Exempt Employee.
- Shift: First, 7:00AM – 3:30PM.
- Pay: Salary commensurate with experience.
