Manufacturing Engineer: Responsible for improving and developing manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient production workflows, and maintaining high-quality and safety standards. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing production systems and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance overall operational efficiency, safety, and product quality.

This position supervises the generation of technical documentation to support manufacturing as well as analyze and change existing processes for continuous improvement. This position provides on-going support problem resolution for product and process concerns as well as new product and operating system development initiatives.

Minimum Requirements for Position:

  • Due to Federal ITAR requirements, we can only consider American Citizens for this position.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Proven experience and success in using applied knowledge in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, machine controls and new technology disciplines will be essential for helping to drive plant operations to consistently higher levels of performance and capacity.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to identify and analyze production issues, providing solutions to streamline processes, enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Interpret and understand internal and customer drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Actively participate in assigned training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in quality assurance and production practices.
  • Provide technical support to production teams to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions for current and future manufacturing processes per customer specifications.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production workflows and reduce costs.
  • Maintain calibration of equipment and tools used in the inspection process to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Manage manufacturing projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Communicate effectively with production management, quality control personnel, and other team members to address workflow issues, resolve problems, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Perform maintenance on department equipment as required; and maintain a clean, organized work area to promote efficiency, safety, and a positive work environment.

Computer / Software Knowledge:

  • Microsoft Office Software
  • Photo Editing for equipment boards
  • SolidWorks

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Punch and die design for sheet metal fabrication
  • Various means of welding: resistance, micro-TIG and laser
  • CNC machining and deburring processes
  • Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma initiatives
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting Geometric Dimensions & Tolerances (GD&T), work orders, drawings, and specifications.
