Piper Companies is currently looking for an experienced Sr Manufacturing Engineer in Lancaster, PA to work for an innovative and growing medical device manufacturer. The Sr Manufacturing Engineer will play a significant role in the design and development of medical device components.
Responsibilities for the Sr Manufacturing Engineer include:
§ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, and Sales to create quotes, designs, drawings, processes, and work instructions.
§ Perform design reviews to ensure dimensional accuracy and integrity of produced parts, components, sub-assemblies, and finished medical devices.
§ Develop, implement, and maintain methods and routings in the fabrication and assembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final medical devices.
§ Estimate manufacturing cost using time standards and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements.
§ Drive implementation of manufacturing processes requiring qualification and/or validation of new equipment or processes.
§ Manage and work on projects, maintain records, and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations. "Hands On" as needed.
§ Set up and operate production equipment as needed for troubleshooting or engineering studies.
§ Collaborate with suppliers or vendors on technical issues and new product introductions.
§ Execute Engineering Change Process and implement process updates and improvement efforts.
Qualifications for the Sr Manufacturing Engineer include:
§ Bachelor's degree (BS) from a four-year college or university; or fifteen years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
§ 5-7+ years of experience with CAD/CAM software and tooling to create CNC programs.
§ Demonstrated ability and fluency in print reading, GD&T, Statistical Process Control, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Gage/fixture design.
§ Demonstrated expertise in production processing and utilization of inspection equipment.
§ Ability to implement, maintain, analyze, and react to various production performance metrics and KPIs.
§ Lean, Six Sigma, and Certified in Project Management is a plus.
